What is an atom?
A core of protons and neutrons, with electrons orbiting it.
Defend. Discover. Collect them all.
An idle tower-defence game built around the periodic table. Your tower fights on its own, you train it, discover elements one by one and grow a collection that keeps earning while you are away.
The full game is made for Android and is not out yet. We will add the Google Play link here when it is ready. Otter Element is for ages 13 and up and is not part of our learning games for younger children.
Tap to try Otter Element for 90 seconds. No account needed.
That was a short taste. The full game has many more elements, molecules, research and turret powers. The Google Play link will appear here when it is ready.

The preview starts a fresh game each time and saves only in this browser. It is a short sample of the Android game.
Every win discovers a real element. Find all 118 and light up the whole table. Tap a tile below to discover it.
Discovering an element reveals its name and symbol. In the game, each element you find also adds to your power list. Hydrogen, for example, gives you Fusion bolt.
The game teaches the science as you play. A short guide covers four ideas, using the same atoms you collect.
A core of protons and neutrons, with electrons orbiting it.
Protons decide the element. Electrons fill shells: first 2, then 8, then 8. Hydrogen has 1 proton, helium 2, oxygen 8.
Sorted by protons. Same column, similar behaviour. Elements in the same column act alike because their atoms have the same number of outer electrons.
Atoms share electrons to bond. Two H and one O make water. In the Lab, you fuse atoms into molecules, then fit them to your turret.
Pick two atoms and press Fuse. Each molecule fits one of three turret bays: barrel, core or mount, and changes how your tower fights. Try it.
