A Calculator Designed for Kids

Most calculators are designed for adults — tiny buttons, confusing modes, and scientific functions that mystify young learners. This calculator has big, colourful buttons, a clean display, and only the four operations children actually need: +, −, ×, ÷.

It also includes percentage and backspace, which are handy for homework without being overwhelming.

Using a Calculator to Learn

Calculators aren’t just answer machines — they’re exploration tools. Ask your child "What happens if you multiply a number by 10? By 100?" or "What’s half of 365?" Curious questions lead to mathematical discoveries.

For best results, have your child estimate the answer first, then use the calculator to check. This builds number sense alongside computational skill.

Keyboard Shortcuts

On a desktop computer, children can type numbers on the keyboard, use +, -, * and / for operations, and press Enter to calculate. The Backspace key deletes the last digit and Escape clears everything.

On phones and tablets, just tap the big buttons — they’re sized for small fingers and spaced to avoid accidental taps.
