Listen to the word, read the hint, and spell it correctly
Spelling is more than memorising letter sequences โ it builds phonemic awareness, vocabulary and reading fluency. Children who spell well tend to read more confidently and write more freely.
This tool combines listening, reading a hint and typing the word โ engaging three learning channels at once for stronger retention.
Easy uses simple 3โ4 letter CVC words (cat, dog, sun) โ perfect for early readers aged 4โ6. Medium introduces common words with blends, digraphs and silent letters for ages 6โ8. Hard tackles multi-syllable words like โbeautifulโ and โnecessaryโ for ages 8โ11.
Let your child start at their comfort level and move up when they can consistently spell 10+ words in a row (watch the streak counter!).
Encourage children to say the word out loud before typing it. Breaking words into syllables ("but-ter-fly") makes long words less intimidating. After getting a word wrong, look at the correct spelling together and spot the tricky part.
Pair this tool with reading โ children who read for pleasure naturally encounter correct spellings in context, reinforcing what they practise here.
